Concord

I love Concord, Massachusetts. I wonder if I lived there in a former life. When I drive into it on Route 2A I feel a kind of connection that's hard to explain. As if I had ridden a horse down that same road when it was muddy... I could visit Henry at his cabin...

My first apple offering

Bronson Alcott used to sit on a bench outside his home--Orchard House in Concord, Massachusetts--and line up several apples beside him on the seat. He hoped the fruit would attract passersby for conversation. I've named my blog "Applepickers," because I hope people will stop by for conversation.

I'm starting this blog because we're working on how this kind of communication can help in the classroom. I'm thinking it will be great... I'll try it with my class and see what conversations start.
